According to the Oregon Medical Marijuana Act, individuals with a recommendation for medical marijuana from an attending physician and qualifying medical conditions are eligible to apply for a medical marijuana card and will not have to pay taxes on their purchases. Getting a Medical Marijuana Card

Applications for a medical marijuana card by mail need to include the required items and should be sent to OHA/OMMP, P.O. Box 14450, Portland, OR 97293-0450. To apply online, create an account at ommpsystem.oregon.gov., submit the required items, complete the application and print your 30-day receipt. Once the completed application has been received, you’ll be issued a receipt letter, which provides the same legal allowances as a registry identification card for 30 days. Following processing, you’ll receive your card in the mail.

Make sure to properly and thoroughly complete all steps of the application. A statement from an Attending Physician must be included. Proof of Oregon residency and a government-issued ID must be submitted along with full payment. A driver’s license covers both of these requirements.
